Initial Situation

Breaking Through Customer Service Boundaries

Goldhofer, a global leader in heavy-duty transport solutions, faced major challenges in maintaining their machinery worldwide. Despite first-class service offerings such as technical advice, training and after-sales support, there were logistical and communication hurdles in operational efficiency. They needed a powerful solution to enhance diagnostics, streamline diagnostics and service, and ensure their machines stayed operational, no matter the location.

Challenge

Navigating data gaps and customization challenges

Goldhofer faced issues with insufficient data on vehicle conditions, resulting in costly and inefficient service operations. Technicians were often unprepared with the correct materials due to a lack of insights into machine issues. Additionally, offering highly customized solutions meant that optimizing product designs for specific use cases became a challenge without detailed usage data.

Solution

Upgrading telematics with Goldhofer »LINK«

To tackle these challenges, Goldhofer upgraded its »LINK« telemetry system in collaboration with Proemion, taking machinery service to the next level. The enhanced »LINK« system now transmits real-time data from sensors located on the vehicle to a cloud-based, user-friendly dashboard. This dashboard tracks critical vehicle parameters, including charge status, temperature, pressure, speeds, and component running times, providing a comprehensive overview of vehicle health and operational efficiency.

With the addition of Proemion’s telematics system, Goldhofer can now offer even more functionality, such as the ability to remotely monitor and diagnose potential issues before dispatching technicians. The system’s modular design allows customers to scale the telemetry features to their specific needs. This flexibility, combined with Proemion’s REST API and DataPump, has facilitated smooth integration into Goldhofer’s internal systems and third-party fleet management applications, enabling real-time fleet monitoring and more advanced data analytics.

The enhanced functionality of Goldhofer »LINK«  includes:

  • Real-time alerts on critical operational parameters, improving safety by identifying issues such as excessive speed or worn parts.
  • Maintenance recommendations and service schedules based on vehicle usage and sensor data, significantly reducing downtime and increasing vehicle lifespan.
  • Worldwide remote access to vehicle data, enabling fleet managers to check anomalies, plan service intervals, and pre-order parts with unprecedented efficiency.
  • Modular design in packages – »LINK« view, »LINK« view+, and upcoming features such as geofencing and remote-control updates. This scalability allows Goldhofer to tailor the system to individual customer requirements.

Outcome

Streamlined operations and cost savings through advanced telematics

With the upgraded »LINK« telemetry system and Proemion’s telematics solution, Goldhofer has significantly enhanced its ability to deliver timely and effective service across the globe. Fleet operators now benefit from increased planning security, as real-time data helps them optimize fleet utilization, manage maintenance proactively, and minimize costly downtimes. Reducing technician visits and more precise diagnostics have resulted in considerable cost savings for Goldhofer and its customers. At the same time, the advanced data analytics have allowed Goldhofer to refine its product offerings further.

Goldhofer’s innovative approach, powered by Proemion’s telematics technology, continues to position the company as a leader in both heavy-duty transport solutions and the future of fleet management.  Looking ahead, Goldhofer is set to introduce additional functionality, including geofencing and remote-control updates, further enhancing the operational efficiency and safety of their machines.
